This is my final product of my film trailer. I kept a majority of my preliminary footage and added some new shots in the areas that I felt didn't work.
I replaced 3 shots because they didn't work for different reasons.
One of the shots I removed was too bright and retracted from the tense atmosphere.
Another shot I removed was too dark and it wasn't possible to see what was happening on screen.
The final shot I changed had no real meaning and didn't make much sense as it wasn't explained.
I replaced these with shots that show the siblings being happy and comfortable in the house with each other. This heightens the tragedy when we then see them in danger.
Before I had these shots all of my footage was showing scary moments and stereotypical horror conventions which had less of an effect than showing the siblings happy at first.
If I could change anything part of my trailer I would darken the scene with the slamming doors as I feel it is too bright. However, light was needed to see what was happening.
