After considering many genres I finally decided to make a film within the horror genre. I created a mind map with all the possibilities and things I could do with certain genres. With horror, it gave me many different opportunities to play with in creating a trailer.
With films like Paranormal activity, most, if not all of the trailer is filmed within a house - as is the whole film - this gives a very easy filming location and reduces issues such as weather and the general public.
Also, within this genre, handheld filming and camera style is becoming more and more popular, this means i could use a smaller camera or even an Ipad to film.
There are also lots of stereotypical horror scenes that I could easily use, E.G. doors slamming, lights flickering and household objects such as chairs being thrown.
I have decided to use teenagers within my film. This is because younger people appear more vulnerable in scary situations. It also means that I can use friends from my class to help my make my trailer.
